Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 June 2026

fstr.in (“fstr”, “we”, “us”) is a community-driven directory of running events in India. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using fstr.in you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

  • Account information. When you sign in (via Google through Firebase Authentication), we receive your email address, display name, and profile photo. You can edit your display name, username, and avatar at any time.
  • Activity you create.Events you submit, edits you suggest, bookmarks, “interested”/“did this” markers, reviews, and reputation are stored and tied to your account.
  • Feedback & diagnostics. If you send beta feedback, we may attach technical diagnostics (the page URL, browser/viewport, and recent JavaScript errors) to help us fix issues. We do not attach screenshots unless you provide them.
  • Approximate location. The “Near me” feature uses your device location only in your browser to sort events by distance. It is not sent to or stored on our servers.
  • Basic logs. Like most sites, our hosting provider processes standard request logs (IP address, timestamps) for security and reliability.

How we use information

  • To operate your account and show your contributions and reputation.
  • To moderate submissions and keep event data accurate and spam-free.
  • To respond to feedback and fix bugs.
  • To protect the service against abuse and to comply with the law.

Event data & AI

Event listings are aggregated from organisers’ public pages and from community contributions. We use automated tools, including AI (Google Gemini), to read public event pages and structure listing details. We do not feed your personal account data into these tools.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run fstr.in — for example Google Firebase (authentication) and our hosting/CDN provider — and when required by law. Your public profile (username, display name, avatar, contributions, and reviews) is visible to others by design.

Cookies

We use essential cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in. We do not use them for advertising.

Your choices

  • View and edit your profile from your account at any time.
  • Request a copy of your data, or deletion of your account and associated personal data, by emailing hello@fstr.in. Some contributions may be retained in anonymised form to preserve the integrity of the public event record.

Data security & retention

We take reasonable measures to protect your information and retain it only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law.

Children

fstr.in is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above when we do.
